Holy Trinity Annual Meeting
January 15, 2006 11:00 a.m.
Following the worship service, Fr. Jim opened the Annual Meeting in prayer. The meeting was called to order and a quorum was present.
Minutes from 2005 Annual meeting were presented for approval, so moved, seconded and passed.
Sheryl Levi presented the budget for 2006. A new computer program was purchased for the budget. The building fund money, at Laramie, was closed out and the money invested in a 6 mo. CD at First Interstate Bank. They gave us a two year interest rate. The Vestry has approved using some of the Capital Improvement money to pay Mosaic. Money from the LaBonte trust fund will be used to help hire the new youth coordinator. $24,000.00 was put in a money market account and the remaining $50,000.00 in a CD at First Interstate with 2 year interest rate.
There is a 3% increase from the 2005-2006 budget, due in part to living expenses. A motion was made to accept the budget, seconded, and was passed.
Greg Todd, Chair of the Facilities Committee, gave a power point presentation on building plans. Members of the committee, Jerry, Kent, Cathy, Deb, Judy, and Bill were thanked. Fr. Jim & Greg met with the Diocese, we can apply for $50,000 a year but only received $10,000 to date. When we start building, tithing to the Diocese will be suspended for the duration. Greg gave a short summary about the purchase of land, dedication, picnic, hiring Mosaic Architects, and design workshops with the Congregation were held which produced two plans. We will receive a 3-D model soon on Plan A. The giving together dinner was sponsored next and the official pledge to date is $206,000.00. See report for sq. feet and cost.
Several questions were raised from the floor: building cost per square feet, cost raising all the time, time line to start building, start with the church or parish hall and then implement the other rooms and areas as we go along. Just get started. No one wants to wait. It was the general feeling that as we have part of the money, we need to break ground now and get started. If we wait, we will loose families and money.
Fund raisers were suggested and one idea is to have yard sales and donate the money to the building fund. Also, Holy Trinity has an account at Value Villa where personal items donated and sold can designate that money to be put into the Church’s account.
Fr. Jim presented the option to sell the church with the congregation’s approval. We will keep Memorial Windows and special donations. Also, sharing space with Prince of Peace is an option for worship and classes. The cost was raised about sharing Prince of Peace, they will let us use their church at no cost but Vestry has agreed to pay a fee to cover our use.
Following a lengthy discussion, Carolyn Jones made a motion to put into action, sharing Prince of Peace Church, Pamela Lynch seconded, motion passed.
Also, a motion was made by Pamela to put the church up for sale, pending our exile, Bobbi seconded, motion passed.
Nominees for new Vestry members were presented: Maggie McCreery-McCoy, Jim Osborne, Cathy Raney, and Vivian Watson. No other names were nominated from the floor. The following candidates were elected by paper ballot: Maggie, Cathy and Vivian.
Delegate nominees were presented for convention: Rollie Parkison and Carolyn Jones were approved. Alternates are Colleen Osborne and Carolyn McConnell. A youth delegate was approved, Shane O’Malley volunteered and Vestry will select another youth member as alternate.
Fr. Jim appointed Rollie Parkison as Senior Warden with the Vestry’s approval. Jr. Warden will be appointed by the Vestry.
All other reports can be found in the Annual Meeting booklet.
Meeting was adjourned at 12:30 with the blessing of the food.
Respectfully submitted,
Nancy Parkison
Vestry Clerk
This has been quite a year. Fr. Jim and Carolyn leaving has left a big hole in my heart. But we will push on. I do not believe you are ever ready to be a senior warden. I told my brother Rick you can't call yourself a Senior Warden until you have served with out a rector. Ask Sue Winter. Be that as it may, we will push on. We have a lot of work a head of us. Notice I say We and Us because that is what it will take for us to succeed.
The first thing is to get the search for a new Rector under way. Margaret Babcock is going to be a very important part in this matter. Thank you Bishop Caldwell
It is going to be very important to not get discouraged about the call process. There is a Rctor ou there for HOly Trinity Episcopal Church. It is going to be important for our congregation to be involved in this process. We need as many people involved as we can get. This will help us to find the right man or woman for the job.
The building fund is growing every week. This is very important. We nedd to keep the building fund growing so when it is time to build our new church the money will be there. YOu have heard it said "fast is slow and slow is fast." The more we plan and the more money we have when it is time to build our church it will go fast.
I do believe we need to have a rector in place before we break ground. It will be important to have their input as well as having someone to over see the project.
They say "That which does not kill you makes you stronger." We are a very strong church. Great People Caring People. That is why we will have a new church and a new rector when the time is right. Only God knows when the time is right.
2007 is going to be a GREAT YEAR AT HOLY TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH.
Thank you
Rollie
Senior Warden
In 2006, the Outreach Committee of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church assisted numerous members of the Gillette communigy. This is included helping out with funeral expenses for one family, providing help with groceries for three families, and giving rental assistance to three more families.Thanksgiving dinners with a complete meal for six, including dessert, were given to fourteen families and another eight dinners were purchased at Christmas. Holy TRinity also provided Christmas to sixteen area children.
The committee also paid expenses for four children to attend HR Camp this summer.
Food collections included four cases of ramen noodles, five cases of macaroni and cheese, numerous small cans of vegetables, and five or six cases of tomato products, all were given to the YES House.
Six grocery bags of toiletries were delivered to the Council of Community Services, along with over thirty coats plus lots of warm clothes.
Th outreach Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has so generously donated time, money, food and clothing so this MInistry can be fulfilled.
Cathy Raney
Outreach Chair
The worship meets the first Tuesday of every month to discuss are upcoming programs for the different liturgical seasons. We are now looking at the Lenten Season and Easter. Our plans for Lenten is to have a Family Soup Suppers, they will start at 6 p.m. and end around 8. There will be a program for both adults and children so that it can be a family affair and the kiddies can be home by eight. During Holy Week for sure we will have a Good Friday service, and during that week Bobbie Rogmoe will set up a place in the back of the church for meditation and Friday we will have an all night vigil. There will also be an Ash Wednesday service at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Stephens Ministers
Do you need someone to talk to who will listen and not be judge mental and will keep all you have said to them confidential? This is what Stephens Ministry is all about, and someone who can listen and help you over the hump of some distress in your life. We have a long list of people we have helped and if you are in need of such service please feel free to call me at 682-9879 and I will make a referral to one of our caregivers. If you know of someone who is a shut in and needs visiting or Communion taken to them let me know and we will see that it is taken care of.

Holy Trinity is a very warm and loving parish with an active lay ministry. Our pastoral care needs are currently being met through the ministry of a number of people. We have an active Stephen’s Ministry Program, where trained lay ministers visit with people in their homes on an on going basis. Norma Apple graciously has been filling in as the supervisor of this ministry after Fr. Jim left. The Daughter’s of the King also have an ongoing prayer ministry for the needs of the community. During the communion we have pray intercessors in the back of the church for special requests. The parish also has several Lay Eucharistic Ministers that bring communion to people in their home, at the Pioneer Manor, and hospital. I have been making pastoral visits to people in the home, hospital, nursing home and detention center as my work schedule allows.
If have a special need or knows someone who does please contact one of the above so that no need is forsaken.
God Bless,
Lane Keeney
The acolytes presently number eleven, who serve on a rotating basis. Bond Houser has instituted a training program to improve efficiency and knowledge, the duty of the deacon. They serve an important part in the services of the church.
Our ongoing daytime Bible Study met weekly until summer break. It did not reorganize in the fall.
The tradition of Lenten Soup suppers continued. Adults shared soup and companionship as they continued their own Christian Education. This tradition will be carried on this year.
Our adolescents have continued their Christian education through participating in our joint youth group on Wednesday nights at Prince of Peace. We did have one of our youth confirmed when Bishop Strickland was here.
When I cam on as the Christian Education Chair, we were struggling with attendance by the children and keeping committed Sunday School teachers. As of the beginning of the school year, we have two teachers who alternate Sundays that they teach and two assistants that take a Sunday each to help with Sunday School. On months when we have a fifth Sunday, we have three individuals who have stepped forward to teach the children music. Attendance at Sunday School has been growing. In the fall, we started with eight children on the roster. By December, that number had grown to 13 and the majority of these children attend regularly. The children have enjoyed parts in church services such as putting the Christmons on the tree and performing their program on Christmas Eve. The lesson that has been learned from this is to expand the opportunities for our children to participate in church services.
The Children also elected to do a donation drive for the Heifer Project as a result of covering the lesson of the woman who had only two coins. The results of the drive were the collection of $174.74, which was used to purchase two flocks of birds, and a share of a llama, a sheep, some rabbits, and tree samplings for communities in need.
As this is my first year as chair of this ministry, I am still learning. My intention is to help with the growth of Christian education for all ages. If anyone has recommendations for that, please feel free to share them with me.

The Stewardship Committee was under new leadership as Maggi McCreery-McCoy and Vivian Watson took the helm. After getting our feet wet, we decided to try and focus on making stewardship more visible and a part of the daily life of Holy Trinity, focusing on the idea that stewardship is much more than the annual pledge drive in November. To that end, a monthly article was submitted to the Grapevine with ideas and suggestions for monthly stewardship ,keeping the theme of Time, Talent, and Treasure intact. The annual pledge drive, the Treasure portion of our stewardship, was successfully launched in November, with a return of 25 pledges, totaling $69,456.00 annually Plans for the coming year, with the theme of Talent in mind, include the monthly Ministry of the Month Club. The second Sunday of the month will also include a recognition during the service of the monthly ministry. The Time portion of our stewardship is in process, and will hopefully be launched sometime in mid-spring.
We have enjoyed our first year as leaders of your stewardship committee, and would love to have more people join us, with new ideas, concepts, ect. We would also like to thank everyone for their love, support and activity at Holy Trinity.
Yours,
Maggi and Vivian
